Música: The Wrestler

Bruce Springsteen e Mickey Rourke se conheceram nos anos 80 no famoso Stone Pony. Eles se tornaram amigos e companheiros de estrada atravessando os EUA nas suas motos entre os anos de 1989 e 1990 quando Springsteen morava em LA.

Nessa época, Rourke era dono de um clube de música ao vivo chamado Rubber Club, e Bruce tocava lá de vez em quando. De acordo com o cineasta Darren Aronofsky, Springsteen é um grande fã de Mickey Rourke, mas não tinham contato ultimamente. Rourke mandou uma carta a Bruce com a cópia do roteiro do filme. Em maio de 2008, Springsteen chamou ele no meio da noite e contou que estava no meio de uma turnê pela Europa, e disse: “Não sei se serei capaz de fazer isso, mas se puder, eu tentarei alguma coisa”.
